According to Everest Today, his body was found a few meters below the summit of Mt Everest.

An earlier statement details that Kirui showed abnormal communication behaviour with his guide before the duo went out of contact.

At the same time, another Romanian who was part of the mission has also been found dead in his tent.

A crosscheck on Kirui’s socials shows that he had announced that he was embarking on a no-oxygen climb attempt.

"A no-oxygen attempt comes with its own special preparations and risks; physically, my body is ready. On the other risks, I'm taking various measures. As usual, we reconvene here in a few days to see how things will have turned out," he wrote five days ago.
